About Us
Founded on a Passion for Sustainable, Affordable Power
Second Chance Solar NJ was founded by Jesse Deene in 2024 with a simple, powerful idea:
To give used solar panels a second chance.
After converting a school bus into an off-grid home on wheels using panels most people considered "used up,"
Jesse saw an opportunity to bring that real-world, DIY know-how to a wider audience.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
At our core, we're a sustainability company. Every day, thousands of perfectly good solar panels are scrapped and sent to landfills simply because they're not brand new. We're here to change that.
Our mission is to give these panels a second chance, rescuing them from being discarded and putting them back to work generating clean power. This not only makes renewable energy more accessible for everyone but also promotes a circular economy and significantly reduces waste. Since our founding, we've successfully rescued over 1,000 used panels, preventing them from ending up in a landfill.
We believe that being smart with your wallet and being smart for the planet can go hand in hand.
Meet the Founder
Jesse Deene
My journey began with a passion for off-grid living and a deep understanding of solar technology. I've lived it, designed it, and built it. My personal projects taught me that "used" doesn't mean "used up"—it means "affordable," "sustainable," and "full of potential." I've been running on the same 15+ year old panels for years, and they are still going strong.
Now, with Second Chance Solar, I'm bringing that same commitment to quality, affordability, and sustainability to you.
